Brad Paisley took the field at Los Angeles' Dodger Stadium Wednesday (Oct. 25) to deliver the National Anthem ahead of the 2017 World Series Game 2.

The match pitted L.A.'s Dodgers against the Houston Astros in sweltering temps, as the thermometer broke 100 degrees yet again (the temperature at the start of Game 1 on Tuesday was 103, making it the hottest World Series ever).

Regardless of the heat, Paisley was excited for the game, based on his earlier tweet revealing he'd be singing the anthem.

Paisley also apparently got to enjoy meeting some of the Series' star players, as evidenced by a tweet showing him shaking hands with Dodgers starting pitcher Clayton Kershaw.

The singer took the field looking cool in a short-sleeved royal blue shirt (a Dodgers team color), performing a simple, heartfelt version of the anthem with just his own guitar for accompaniment.

Game 1 of the World Series saw Compton, Calif. gospel Singer Keith Williams Jr. performing the anthem. The Dodgers defeated the Astros 3-1.

Paisley has a busy fall, as he's next gearing up to co-host the 2017 CMA Awards with his longtime cohort Carrie Underwood. This will mark the 10th year the pair have teamed up for the famed awards show, and fans are no doubt waiting for the duo's usual repertoire of humorous commentary on current events and country music.
