The first promo for Billy Ray Cyrus' new show, Still the King, has been released. Fans who have been itching to see the country singer back on TV don't have to wait much longer.

The 30-second commercial sets up Cyrus' Vernon Brown as a fallen star who's "doing all the wrong things for all the right reasons." According to CMT, Brown is "a scandal-ridden, washed-up, one-hit-wonder who was kicked out of country music, only to emerge 20 years later as the second-best Elvis impersonator around."

When Brown (aka "Burnin' Vernon") is arrested after hitting an old country church sign while drunk, he's sentenced to serve as the church's handyman as part of his parole. However, Brown decides to pretend to be the church's new minister, and he reconnects with a former one-night-stand (Joey Lauren Adams) -- but things get complicated when he learns that he has a 15-year-old daughter (Madison Iseman) he's never met.

The Still the King promo introduces Cyrus, Adams and Iseman in their roles and offers up some sweet moments and laugh-worthy lines. Press play above to watch.

Still the King won't be Cyrus' first stint on television. He's been acting since 1999, and in the years since, he's appeared on The Love Boat: The Next Wave, played Dr. Clint Cassidy on Doc and starred in his daughter Miley's Disney Channel hit show Hannah Montana.

Still the King is set to premiere on June 12 at 9PM ET on CMT.
