A Country Legend Returns to Five Flags Center in May
The Five Flags Center team has been busy announcing a slew of upcoming concerts over the last couple of weeks. Today, they announced a country music legend would be returning to perform in May!
Multiple Grammy Award-winning artist Dwight Yoakam is set to perform at Five Flags Center on Saturday, May 27th in the Five Flags Arena! Yoakam has been a mainstay in country music since the 1980s. Over the course of his career, he's seen 12 of his albums go gold, nine go platinum, five top the Billboard Country Albums charts, and another 14 landing in the top ten!
Among his discography, his album This Time, released in 1993, is one of the most critically acclaimed country releases of its era!
Yoakam has also parlayed his successful singing career into the world of film. His acting breakthrough came in the 1996 film Sling Blade, starring Billy Bob Thornton. More recently, Yoakam had sizable roles in Steven Soderbergh's Logan Lucky (2017) and Clint Eastwood's Cry Macho (2021).
Country singer Aaron Lewis will take the Five Flags stage prior to Yoakam as the opening act. The founding member of the band Staind, Lewis has since become a solo country act, and he'll be a perfect complement to Yoakam that evening!
Tickets will go on sale Friday, March 24th at 10am. Tickets can be purchased on Five Flags Center's website, Ticketmaster's website, or at the Five Flags Center Box Office, located at 405 Main Street in Dubuque.
