I love my job at WJOD.  Where else can I truly enjoy every day?  Whether it's on the air in the studio or broadcasting live somewhere in the tri-states, I look forward to coming to work every day.

That being said, I also enjoy getting away and spending some time relaxing with my wife Shari.  We recently did just that with a trip to Arizona.  There's plenty to see and do in Arizona and I'm sure we only saw a very small part of it.

The drive itself was interesting as we checked out the surroundings.  Cool architecture, incredible rock formations, and general beauty was more than enough to pass the time.  I was driving so taking pictures was not practical.

By far the biggest attraction was the Grand Canyon.  We visited the South Rim of this massive attraction.  No matter how many pictures you take, there is just no way to fully appreciate this massive wonder of nature except in person.  This was our first trip to Grand Canyon and it was well worth our 2 and half-hour drive to get there.

When we did stop we got some great photos. You can see some of them in the Gallery below.  We also visited Winslow, Arizona, the inspiration for a line in the Eagle song Take it Easy.

No trip to Arizona is complete without a trip to the Antelope Canyon.  There's both a lower and upper canyon tour.  We did both, but I'll be honest I enjoyed the upper canyon more.

There's lots more to do in Arizona including the Pink Jeep Tours, tons of great State Parks.  Not to mention some great local restaurants.  We spent most of our time in the Sedona area but there is no shortage of eating and drinking establishments throughout the state.

If you're looking for a place to escape the snow and cold of another Midwest winter, Arizona is a great choice.
