The Grant County Sheriff's Department says 2 people were killed when a vehicle collided with a horse-drawn buggy on Wisconsin 35 Northeast of Beetown, Wisconsin at about 9:25 pm Sunday night.

All five occupants in the buggy were thrown from it.  Two of those occupants, 52-year-old Linda Miller and 12-year-old Danel Miller were pronounced dead at the scene.  The other three occupants, 50-year-old Mervin Miller, 14-year-old Nathan Miller, and 7-year-old Rachael Miller were taken to either Grant Regional Health Center in Lancaster or Crossing Rivers Health in Prairie du Chien, then transferred to University of Wisconsin Hospitals and Clinics in Madison with life-threatening injuries.  The driver of the vehicle was 33-year-old Timothy Hill, of Lancaster, Wisconsin.  Hill was westbound on the highway and did not see the westbound buggy. His vehicle crashed into the rear of the buggy

A separate non-related accident just after 7:00pm on Sunday night killed a Fennimore, Wisconsin man.  44-year-old Jeremy Gengler was killed when his motorcycle drifted onto the shoulder of Wisconsin 35 near University Farm Road west of Lancaster.  His bike entered the ditch and eventually flipped several times. He was taken by ambulance to Grant Regional Health Center, then airlifted to UW Hospital in Madison, where he died.

Both accidents remain under investigation.
