Join a real-world, outdoor treasure hunt at the Lower Bee Branch in Dubuque on Saturday, July 23 at 10 a.m. Geocaching is the activity of finding hidden containers called “caches” using a global positioning system (GPS) device and internet published coordinates.

At Geocaching 101, you’ll learn how the game is played, about types of caches, and what to do once you’ve found one. Participants will then locate caches hidden along the Lower Bee Branch Creek. In advance of this activity, participants are welcome to visit www.geocaching.com to download the free Official Geocaching Intro app and set up an account. To locate caches, participants must bring a smartphone.

This program is free. No registration required. The class will meet on the E. 15th Street side of the maintenance building located at the Lower Bee Branch just west of the creek. The address is 1553 Maple St. Click here to see a map.
