Kudos to the Dubuque Fighting Saints for their recent fundraiser for the Veterans Freedom  Center.  The stars and stripes proved to be a good look for the Dubuque Fighting Saints at Military Appreciation Night November 14th, presented by Kwik Stop, Dairy Queen and Fazoli’s. The Fighting Saints claimed an 8-4 win over rival Waterloo on the ice, and earned another key victory off the ice with the post-game auction of the patriotic jerseys worn that evening. The jersey auction raised over $16,500 to benefit the Veterans Freedom Center.

Jim Wagner, co-founder and Director of the Veterans Freedom Center says “The people of the Tri-State area have shown great support to the Veterans Freedom Center though jersey auctions and many other initiatives,”.   “Military Appreciation Night is a great event, and it’s people like Kwik Stop, Dairy Queen and Fazoli’s, and the Fighting Saints, that help with Operation We Care for veterans and their families. Every dime that comes into the Veterans Freedom Center goes to the veterans, and with the holidays coming up, we’ll be helping a lot of people in need.”
