Saw this story in the TH about drivers passing school buses.  Dubuque Assistant Police Chief Terry Tobin says Dubuque police have written 23 tickets this school year to drivers for illegally passing a school bus with an activated stop arm and lights. Captain Dale Snyder, of the Dubuque County Sheriff's Department, said his department receives a report of illegal bus passing about once every other week.  My question is why are so many drivers breaking the law?    I've been stuck behind plenty of buses over the years and can honestly say I have never passed a school bus with it's stop sign out.  No job or appointment is worth the risk of hurting or killing a student.   Let's give our kids a break, and stop breaking the law.  It's a decision we can all live with.
