 Sat Aug 18

7:30 am - 12:00 pm. The Alzheimer’s 5K /10K will be held on the course starting at heritage pond trail on Hwy 52. You can register online at getmeregistered.com or visit their Facebook page. New this year is a FREE kids race at 7:30am.

-The 4th Annual Jackson Hohmann “Be a Friend” Walk will take place the Dubuque Soccer Complex at 12896 John F Kennedy Road. Registration at 9am with walk beginning at 10:30am. The theme for this year’s family-friendly event is “reach for your goals.” This is a free-will donation casual walk around the soccer complex. There will also be kids activities, a raffle, lunch, and more. For more info, contact angie@livelikejack8.org.

11:00 am - 6:00 pm.  The Southwestern Booster Club will hold a Golf Fundraiser at the Galena Golf Course. This is a 4-person 9-hole best shot with a silent auction, lawn games, cookout, and live music from 1:00pm – 4:00pm. All proceeds go to Southwestern athletic teams.

Peosta Picnic for our Park. 3pm-7pm. View pictures of the new park and learn more about it's development. Burger or hotdog with chips for just $6.  Ice cream for $2. Event will be held in the Fidelity Bank parking lot in Peosta.

Members of the East Central Iowa Association of REALTORS® (ECIAR) are helping local food banks “Fill the Need” by conducting food drives in four (4) area cities.

Dubuque area REALTOR® members will be collecting food donations Friday August 24th and Saturday August 25th at the HyVee Supermarkets locations in Asbury, Locust Street and Dodge Street and the Fareway Food Store on JFK. Bellevue, Dyersville and Maquoketa members will be collecting food donations Friday September 21st and Saturday September 22nd at the Fareway Food Stores in Dyersville and Maquoketa and Bender’s Food in Bellevue.

10:00 am - 2:00 pm.  The Dubuque Leisure Services Department will hold the annual “Doggie Dip” at Flora Pool. The schedule: 10:00am to 11:00am: Dogs 30 lbs and smaller. 11:30am to 12:30pm: Dogs 31 to 60 lbs. and 1:00pm to 2:00pm: Dogs 61 lbs. and larger.

1:00 pm - 4:30 pm. Potosi Brewfest will be held at the Holiday Gardens Event Center, Potosi, WI. There will be More than 60 vendors, live music & food. All proceeds will benefit the Potosi Foundation. Tickets are on sale now at https://bit.ly/2JEzUOo.

All Day Event:  Today is the registration deadline to take part in the 3rd annual “Heroes for History Stair Challenge” 5K competitive Run/Fun Walk on Galena’s iconic Green Street staircase to be held on Saturday, September 8th. Go to History5k.org to register. (Net proceeds from will be split between the Historical Society and Galena-based first responder agencies.)
