It happened on Saturday.  What is with all the gunfire in Dubuque.  It's only a matter of time before someone gets hurt or killed.  And chances are it will be an innocent bystander not even involved in the incident.  I've raised by entire family in Dubuque, and I can't remember a more scary time in our city.  Here are the details in Saturday's incident if you are interested.

On Saturday, April 11th, 2015, at 4:23 a.m., Dubuque Police responded to 663 Jefferson Street on the report of shots fired inside the residence.  The tenant, Taneisha S. Berry, 25, answered the door but was immediately uncooperative and arrested for Interference with Official Acts.  While being transported to jail, Berry began kicking the squad car windows and attempted to slip out of the handcuffs.  The transporting officer had to stop the squad car and attempt to re-secure the handcuffs.  While doing so, Berry bit and scratched the officer, causing injury and resulting in an additional charge of Assaulting a Police Officer Causing Injury.

Also located inside the residence was Robby R. Williams Jr., 21, of 561½ Loras Boulevard, Dubuque.  Williams was determined to have an arrest warrant for Forgery/Credit Card Fraud and was arrested.  Also located inside was Tiffany L. Ellis, 24, of 974½ West 5th Street, Dubuque.  She was determined to have an arrest warrant out of Jo Daviess County, Illinois, for unlawful possession of stolen property.  A fourth arrest was made after officers located a subject identified as Kohl V. Lee, 26, of 1443 Elm Street, Dubuque, inside the residence.  Lee was intoxicated and arrested on a Department of Corrections order for violating parole.

Officers applied for and were granted a search warrant for the residence.  Drugs and paraphernalia were located but no weapon was recovered.  Officers did recover shell casings believed to be related to the disturbance.  The investigation is ongoing.  Berry, Ellis and Lee all remain in the Dubuque County Jail.

As with any criminal case, the charges filed are allegations and any suspects are presumed innocent until convicted in a court of law.
