In tribute to his grandfathers, Scotty McCreery has released his hyper-personal new video for “Five More Minutes.

Written alongside Frank Rogers and Monty Criswell in the weeks after the loss of his paternal grandfather, the song has been a fan favorite, and is described by McCreery as his “favorite song [he’s] ever written.

“I was just kind of talking about Grandaddy, and [how] there were a few things I wanted to tell Grandaddy that I didn’t get a chance to,” McCreery told The Boot earlier this month. “I was kind of reminiscing on what we’d do together: We’d golf together and swim together in his pool in the backyard.”

Debuted at People.com on Monday, the video features footage from McCreery’s childhood, including the day he came home from the hospital. The old photos are interspersed with intimate, close-up shots of McCreery singing the song’s poignant lyrics. Earlier this month, when McCreery debuted the song at the Grand Ole Opry, it earned a standing ovation (and plenty of tears) from the crowd.

“Five More Minutes” has shot up the charts since its May 5 release. It quickly jumped to No. 2, and has been streamed more than 2 million times on Spotify. At present, it sits at No. 50 on the Billboard Country Airplay Chart.

McCreery hasn’t released any details on a new album on which “Five More Minutes” might appear, but fans can check out the video for the song above.
