I was able to pick up my new bike from Free Flight today.  It's the bike I will be using to ride to work next week May 15-19  during Ride Your Bike To Work week.  And yes the bike comes with a battery assist to help with the hilly terrain of Dubuque.(And not because of my age!)

Here's more about the bike.

Electric bikes amplify your pedaling power and your ability to do and see more. Trek e-bikes make more possible. They're quick and smooth, with predictable, easy-to-control power and a long-lasting removable battery that recharges at any household outlet.

Dual Sport+ is the ultimate electric hybrid: Part city bike, part adventure trail ride. Fast 700c wheels, suspension, and a light, strong frame make it the go-anywhere choice.

Where do you want to go? Now that's a decision you can make after you begin your ride. On or off the road, Dual Sport+ can conquer it all with confidence.

40-60 miles of range on a full charge.  Ride to work without getting sweaty

Tips for you to join me for the Bike to Work week challenge:

Do a practice run to plan your route on a non work day so you can figure out how long it will take.

If you have a long ride, take work clothes to work and leave them there for the week.

Wear a helmet and wear bright clothes.  Use flashing lights for increased visibility

Use the Jule bus system for part of your trip,  each bus has a bike rack  on the front, perfect for getting your bike from downtown to the top of the hill if you don’t want to climb it.
