By now you've heard of Random Acts of Kindness.  If you haven't, here's the deal.  People do something nice for a total stranger while expecting nothing in return but a Thank You.  Plug an expired parking meter.  Or pick up the tab for someone just because.  We'll this morning I witnessed a Random Act of Kindness in my neighborhood.  I live near the University of Dubuque so most of the streets near my house have signs posted saying "no student parking".  Many students park there anyway and yes sometimes they get ticketed.  This morning as I was finishing my daily walk, a student had just parked  his car in front of my neighbors house.  She saw him get out of his car and starting talking to him.  I thought she was going to yell at him for parking where he's not supposed to.  Instead she offered him her driveway, explaining she didn't need it today anyway.  That way he could avoid a ticket.   I had a chance to talk to the student briefly and he explained he was in a hurry because he was late for a final.   He had enough to worry about with that final, he didn't need to worry about his car being ticketed or towed.  And thanks to my neighbor, now he can concentrate on his final.   It was a small effort on my neighbors part, but it was a big help to that college student.  So you see Random Acts of Kindness are easy and don't have to cost money.  So today I challenge you to do a Random Act of Kindness for someone.  Merry Christmas.  Ken.
