People’s Choice Food Winner at Iowa State Fair

The Apple Eggroll, a new food from Applishus takes top honors in the 2018 People's Choice Best New Food Contest at the Iowa State Fair. The Brown Sugar Pork Belly on a Stick from the Iowa Pork Tent and the All Iowa Belly Up Burger from The Rib Shack were stiff competitors.

The winning Apple Eggrolls are egg roll crust stuffed with delicious Granny Smith only apple filling and sprinkled with cinnamon and sugar with a side of caramel sauce. The Apple Eggroll is located at Applishus Stands throughout the Fairgrounds - East Canopy of the VI Building, Cultural Center Courtyard, South Side of Walk on Triangle and North West Corner of Walnut Square for $5 and each purchase comes with two rolls.

The two other foods vying for the 2018 title will also remain available throughout the Fair at their respective locations.

Brown Sugar Pork Belly on a Stick – A quarter pound strip of pork belly that has been honey cured, rubbed with brown sugar and cooked to crispy perfection. Get the Brown Sugar Pork Belly On a Stick for $7 at the Iowa Pork Tent.

All Iowa Belly Up Burger – A half-pound of fresh ground pork belly seasoned with our signature rub then grilled to perfection, topped with our pulled pork then topped with our signature sauce, followed with our thick cut candied bacon and lastly with our Rib Shack Slaw and served on a brioche bun. The All Iowa Belly Up Burger is located at The Rib Shack south of the Bill Riley Stage for $10.
