Kelly Clarkson Rocks 2018 U.S. Open With Her Biggest Hits [Watch]
The superstar brought her A-game to the famous Arthur Ashe Stadium near NYC, where a packed house of sports fans gathered for the 50th anniversary of the yearly all-star tennis championship that brought out Venus and Serena Williams, Rafael Nadal and more.
Clarkson performed half a dozen of her most notable tracks, including "Since U Been Gone," "Miss Independent" and "Stronger (What Doesn't Kill You)."
She kicked off the high-energy set with "Walk Away," which led into the equally lively "Since U Been Gone" and showed off her impressive range. She didn't miss a beat on the bouncy "Heat" and "Heartbeat Song," as the sometimes-country filled the massive arena with her undeniable energy that continued with a revamped, guitar-heavy version of her fierce "Miss Independent."
"We're so excited to perform here at the U.S. Open. I love opening for Serena Williams," Clarkson said, laughing before launching into "Stronger" — the song that rounded out her set.
The American Idol winner will make her way to the television screen again when she re-joins the coaches' panel on The Voice for Season 15. She's also in talks to host her own daytime talk show that could begin airing in fall of 2019.
On the music front, Clarkson was awarded the Radio Disney Music Icon Award at the 2018 Radio Disney Music Awards. She is set to perform at the 2018 iHeart Radio Music Festival along with Carrie Underwood, Luke Bryan, Jason Aldean and more.
