Keith Urban will headline the National Rugby League (NRL) Telstra Premiership Grand Final this weekend. The massive event is the equivalent to America's Super Bowl halftime show.

Urban will perform on Oct. 2 at ANZ Stadium, where nearly 100,000 fans are expected to show up. According to a press release, his set will feature songs off his latest album Ripcord.

Ripcord is up for Album of the Year at the upcoming 2016 CMA Awards. Urban received four nominations in total, including Entertainer of the Year, Male Vocalist and Best Vocal Event with Carrie Underwood for “The Fighter.”

In an interview with Rolling Stone Country, Urban acknowledges that receiving the Entertainer of the Year nod is "extraordinary."

“I love playing live,” he says. The 2016 CMA Awards nominees were revealed in late August. “It’s an intense passion for me, and thank God. I couldn’t imagine not doing it. I’d be playing guitar down on Broadway tonight if I wasn’t doing this. If my career wasn’t in the place it’s at right now, I’d be playing some club somewhere. This is what I’ve always done, and I just feel incredibly lucky and blessed that I get to do it at the level that I get to do it at.”

It's been more than a decade since Urban won his first Entertainer of the Year award at the 2005 CMA Awards.

“I feel an immense amount of satisfaction for what I’ve gotten to do so far,” he says. “But right now, Ripcord and the way it’s been received, it feels like the start of the next chapter. It’s a great feeling."

The 2016 CMA Awards will take place on Nov. 2.
