It was both a happy day and a sad day this past Saturday.Happy because my daughter Kristin graduated with a double major from UNI.  Sad because she is my youngest child and I couldn't help but fell a little "old".  Not sure what makes me feel prouder, the fact that she managed to graduate in just 3 years...or the fact that she paid for it all her self.  That's right, no loans, no money from Mom and Dad....she earned her degrees in every sense of the word.  It seems like just yesterday(even though it was 21 years ago this Wednesday) when Kristin came into the world.  She was barely over 5 pounds and the nurses at Finley referred to her as "peanut" because she was so small.  She's all grown up now and ready to start her career.  She'll spend the summer working with the Iowa Games in Des Moines and I know she'll do great.   My trick right knee and my graying hair are signs that I'm getting older.  My youngest child graduating from college simply adds to that.  She has thanked my wife Shari and I many times for helping her get to this point in her life.  And I can't help but thank my Mom and Dad for giving me the help I needed over the years as well.  My parents have both passed away, but I know they are smiling down from Heaven.  I hope they are as proud of Kristin as my wife Shari and I are.   Congrats Kristin on a job well done.
