I guess it's like the Circle of Life.  One door closes, another door opens..

Okay, I'll get to the point.  Over the weekend my son moved out of the house and into his  own apartment.  So after my wife Shari and i raised 4 kids and and helped to raise a couple of grand children, the Peiffer house is an "Empty Nest" for the first time in over 26 years.  Now before you start thinking things are quiet in the house, remember I still live there!  Anyway as I noticed the empty house inside, I also noticed and very full house(okay full birds nest) outside our family room window.  A family of robins has taken residence in one of our pine bushes.  I try not to get to close as to scare them but it appears there are 3 baby robins in the nest.   The mother and father robin spend the majority of their tiime finding food for the 3 hungry mouths.  And despite their small size I can tell you the young birds have quite the appetite.  While it took just over 26 years for our "nest" to be empty, judging by the size of the baby robins, their next will be empty soon.   As is the circle of life...my kids move out and the robins move in.  Don't know how long they'll be staying but it is nice to have a little activity near our house.    Oh and if you are thinking of stopping by you may want call ahead.....after all it's our first "empty nest" in over 26 years.   Ken
