I got an early Father's Day gift this week   One of the sweetest gifts I could have received.

My daughter Kristin has been working in Ames since May so I haven't been able to spend much time with her.  She'll be working this weekend so I probably won't get a chance to talk to her on Father's Day. So she decided to send me a Father's Day gift a little earlier.  I've gotten more expensive gifts and bigger gifts, but this one was pretty special. It was better than a phone call and way better than a text.  An actual letter....handwritten from the heart. She could have gone to the store, picked out a card, dropped it in the mail and that would have been fine.  But to take the time to write the letter and say the things she said, it made me feel special.  She may have only spent 49 cents, but the gift was priceless. I'm not one for saving birthday cards or Father's Day cards, but I plan on hanging on to this one.   Happy Father's Day to all the Dads and Granddads this Sunday.
