Here's the latest on the Bomb scare in Cuba City on Sunday.

Cuba City police issued a press release this morning with more information on the incident. They confirmed Kwik Trip was closed for about 3 1/2 hours Sunday while authorities investigated two the contents of two bottles found in the bed of a pick-up truck parked in the parking lot.

Police responded to the store shortly after 4 p.m. Authorities found two plastic bottles in the bed of the truck that contained an unknown chemical mixture, according to the release. The fire department and hazardous materials team were dispatched to the scene. The area was secured, and the store was closed as a safety precaution.

The Dane County Sheriff’s Department bomb squad responded to the request for assistance and rendered the suspicious items safe. The mixture inside the bottles was believed to be a mixture of common household chemicals and materials.

The bottles were removed and the contents disposed of. The scene was rendered safe and the store was opened back to the public at about 7:25 p.m. There was no damage or any injuries that occurred.

The investigation is ongoing, according to Cuba City Police Chief Troy Loeffelholz.
