Less than two weeks after wrapping up its 2016 show, the company that operates the Country on the River music festival is asking to relocate the event. According to reports, Townsquare Live Events Wisconsin LLC has asked the Prairie du Chien Common Council to consider moving the festival back to St. Feriole Island. Country on the River was initially held on the island for the event’s first two years in 2010 and 2011. In a letter to the Prairie du Chien Common Council, Townsquare says they’ve recently learned they’ll be unable to use the entire property at the current Town of Bridgeport site going forward due to an easement issue. The Prairie du Chien Common Council is set to review the request at its meeting on Tuesday.
