WJOD congratulates Loras College for ranking number 11 among Best Midwest Regional Colleges in the 2015 edition of “Best Colleges” by U.S. News Media Group.

U.S. News made significant changes this year to the Best Colleges ranking methodology. Instead of inputs, they focused attention on quality and outcome factors, such as high retention rates, excellent placement outcomes, strong graduation rates and continued high academic standards.

The exclusive rankings, which include more than 1,400 schools nationwide, are available at www.usnews.com/colleges, and will also be published in an upcoming issue of U.S. News & World Report. The publication evaluated 364 institutions in the Best Regional Colleges category and divides them into four regions: North, South, Midwest and West.  Among the many factors weighed in determining the rankings, the key measures of quality are: peer assessment, graduation and retention rates, faculty resources, student selectivity, financial resources and alumni giving. The “Best Colleges” ranking is of assistance to families as they navigate the difficult decisions involved throughout the college selection process.
