Chris Stapleton has been announced as the first headliner for Country on the River 2017! From Aug. 3-5, Stapleton will join a dozen other country stars in Prairie du Chien, Wis., as they perform at Wisconsin's biggest country party.

Returning for its eighth consecutive year, the Country on the River festival will take place in the scenic countryside of Prairie du Chien, where the Wisconsin and Mississippi Rivers meet. Stapleton is the first act to be announced for the 2017 event, but he will soon be joined by two more headliners and a host of other country hitmakers. Past performers at Country on the River have included Dierks Bentley, Blake Shelton, Jason AldeanLee Brice, Kid Rock and Jake Owen.

Fresh off his wins at the 50th annual CMA Awards for Male Vocalist of the Year and Music Video of the Year, Stapleton has a few festivals on the horizon for 2017. In addition to his headlining spot at Country on the River, he'll also headline April's Tortuga Music Festival.
