The Canadian Country Music Association has released its list of nominees for the 2017 CCMA Awards, and even those not familiar with Canadian country music should recognize some of the nominated artists. Lindsay Ell, the James Barker BandHigh Valley and more are among 2017's CCMA Awards nominees.

After recently performing as an opening act on Tim McGraw and Faith Hill's Soul2Soul Tour, sibling duo High Valley -- brothers Brad and Curtis Rempel -- have been nominated for the Apple Music Fans' Choice Award, Album of the Year and Group or Duo of the Year at the 2017 CCMA Awards. The two have been growing their fanbase in Canada for a while now, but they only released their U.S. debut album, Dear Life, in 2016.

Ell's nomination for Female Artist of the Year is a well-deserved nod to the uber-talented singer-songwriter and guitarist. She's prepping to release her first full-length album in the States and promoting a single ("Waiting on You"); she also recently experienced some backlash for her relationship with radio personality Bobby Bones.

The James Barker Band have plenty to celebrate in 2017: the recent engagement of lead singer Barker to his longtime girlfriend, the release of their debut EP, Game On, in April and now, a number of CCMA Awards nods. They're nominated for Album of the Year, Group or Duo of the Year, Rising Star, Single of the Year ("Lawn Chair Lazy"), Video of the Year ("Chills") and Songwriter(s) of the Year ("Chills").

Other notable 2017 CCMA Awards nominees include Dallas Smith, Lindi Ortega and Brett Kissel. A complete list of nominations is available on the Canadian Country Music Association's website.

The 2017 CCMA Awards will take place at the SaskTel Centre in Saskatoon, Saskatchewan, Canada, on Sept. 10.
