When Brett Eldredge decided to skip the 2016 CMA Awards for Game 7 of the World Series, his choice was not an easy one: Watch his team potentially win the World Series for the first time in over 100 years? Or attend the 50th anniversary of Country Music’s Biggest Night? In the end, Eldredge chose the Cubs, and he's continuing to celebrate with the MLB's new champs.

On Friday (Nov. 4), Eldredge joined the Cubs' parade from Wrigley Field to Grant Park in celebration of their victory. Eldredge got to perform the team’s anthem, “Go Cubs Go,” with members of the World Series-winning ballclub (better than performing on his couch, right?!). Readers can press play below to watch his performance.

Being a Cubs fan is practically in Eldredge’s DNA: The country star was born and raised in Paris, Ill., and his family members have been fans of the team for generations.

“It’s been my family’s dream, from my grandparents all the way down to my father and my brother and I, and my whole family, to go to the World Series,” Eldredge admitted prior to Game 7 on Wednesday night (Nov. 2).

After Eldredge celebrates with his home team, he’ll head to Wisconsin and Minnesota for a weekend of shows, before heading back to Nashville to be part of the annual CMA Country Christmas show; the holiday special is set to tape on Tuesday (Nov. 8) and will air on Nov. 28. It's a perfect fit for Eldredge, too, as he just released his first Christmas album, Glow, which includes 10 classic tunes in the style of Eldredge’s hero, Frank Sinatra, as well as the album’s original title track.
