Joey + Rory Feek have been going through a very difficult time, but their steadfast faith in the face of enormous adversity has been powerful for more than just their fans.

Joey has been battling Stage 4 cancer, for which she recently underwent surgery, radiation and chemotherapy. Doctors have told the couple there is nothing more they can do. She and Rory made the decision to end her treatments, and after a nationwide prayer vigil for Joey last week, Rory has revealed that Joey has entered hospice care.

Rory has written songs for other artists, including Blake Shelton's hit "Some Beach," and in a new interview with Entertainment Tonight, Shelton lauded the couple for their faith and strength.

"The courage that they as a family have displayed — it's inspirational," Shelton says. "It's sad, but it's special at the same time."

"I never really got to knew [Rory] that well," the "Gonna" singer adds. "He was always just someone I kinda knew. But to see what they're going through as a family and what's happening with Joey, what can you say?"

In his most recent update to his blog, This Life I Live, Rory said he and Joey's 1-year-old daughter, Indiana, are just trying to keep Joey as comfortable as possible, and to make as many memories as they can, while they can.

“The last couple of mornings, I’ve brought Indiana up here to spend time with her mama.  Both of their eyes light up the moment they see each other,” he writes. Joey has been spending time recording her voice reading books for Indiana, Rory adds. “Joey’s hope is that our little one will be able to sit on my lap in days to come and turn pages and hear her mama reading to her.”

And even though he admits the answer they got to their prayers was "not the answer we hoped for," Rory says, “Joey is at peace with where she is and where she’s going. So am I.”
