Night one of the America's River Festival Kicked off with a bang...literally.  Thunder and some lightning (in the distance) were seen and heard throughout the night.  Only a few sprinkles were felt until the end of Michael Ray's set.  All this didn't stop country fans from coming out and enjoying a night of country music from the past and present.

Lindsay Ell started the night with her rockin country ("Criminal") and her great guitar playing.  Restless Heart (who have been together for 35 years) took to the stage. They sang #1 hits..."That Rock Won't Roll", "I'll Still Be Loving You", "Why Does It Have to Be (Wrong or Right)", "Wheels" and "The Bluest Eyes in Texas".  Thanks to Restless Heart who came last minute to fill in for Walker Hayes.  (Our thoughts and prayers continue with Walker Hayes and his family during this difficult time.)  Next to the stage was Canadian country duo High Valley.   You ask who is High Valley they are brothers Brad and Curtis Rempel from Alberta Canada.  They are on the cutting edge of country music.  They blend the new edgier country feel and the harmonies & musicianship of the past.  They sang "Make You Mine" and "She's with Me".  Last but certainly not least it was time for Michael Ray to take the the stage.  Michael is no stranger to Dubuque.  He played at the Q Casino back in October of 2017.   Michael really knows how to get the crowd going and involved.  The energetic set included hits "Kiss You in the Morning", "Real Men Love Jesus", "Think a Little Less" and "Get to You".

What a great night of country music!!!  Enjoy looking at the photos.  Photos are courtesy of Julie B.
